The Halifax International Fleet Review (IFR) is a part of the celebrations surrounding the centennial of the Canadian Navy. IFR Week activities took place from June 26 to July 2, 2010, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The photos that appear here were mainly taken during this period, and featured more than 24 ships of various international navies. The week began with ships alongside open for tours (Saturday and Sunday), then Monday the ships proceeded to the Fleet Review anchorage (ships were primarily arranged in Bedford Basin, with 6 ships in the main harbour). Tuesday was the Fleet Review, and Wednesday and Thursday ships were again open for tours. Wednesday night saw the delayed Naval Centennial fireworks occur at 2200. I finished the week off by attending the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, which had a heftier than normal focus on the Canadian Navy to celebrate the centennial.
For those that followed this gallery during Fleet Week as I added photos, I have since finished adding photos (I think, anyway), and have reordered the photos in more or less the order they were taken during the week.

Thursday, June 24. My first opportunity to photograph warships occurs on my trip to work in the morning as I cross Halifax Harbour on the ferry. Here is HMS ARK ROYAL. No, really. I mean it. What, you can't see her? Use your imagination!
